I use Thunderbird for my work email. Since early October, I have had difficulty accessing the internet using Thunderbird. I can access my work email account through the web, but that is a bit clunky. I have no problem accessing the internet via Firefox, and I can access my work email via Thunderbird if I use my phone as a personal hotspot. Is there a setting on Thunderbird I need to change, or is my problem more with my internet provider (Quantum Fiber)?

Just an off the wall guess. But the mention of fibre makes me wonder if the issue may be related to IPV6. Try disabling it in Thunderbird and see if it makes a difference.

The link is for an exchange issue, but the instruction for disabling IPV6 are accurate.

You might also try in settings searching for DNS and clicking the Settings button the search returns. Ensure the DNS over HTTPS is enabled. (this might get around a DNS server that is locked into the IPV4 world when returning results.

Same way you always have done. Change the preference network.dns.disableIPv6 in the config editor. to true
