My computer died. I was using windows 10. On my new computer (windows 11) my old bookmarks are not on the mozilla browser where they used to be. Can I get them back?

Sorry to hear about your old computer.

When you sign into Firefox using your Mozilla Account (formerly called a Firefox Account), Firefox normally will upload and encrypted copy of your bookmarks to the Sync cloud. When you installed Firefox on your new computer and signed in, Firefox should have discovered that data and (eventually) replicated it to your new installation. However, this isn't a perfect process.

You can check what data is in the Sync cloud for your Mozilla Account using the About Sync add-on:

https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/about-sync/

After you install the add-on, you can type or paste about:sync in the address bar and press Enter to load it. The page shows each category of data currently found in the Sync cloud.

Scroll down to bookmarks and look at the little tab that says "Records (table)" to see what is stored on the server (or "Records (object)" where you can click triangles to expand the results).

Anything there?

Last question: do you still have your old hard drive or SSD drive? You can buy a USB enclosure and use that to read data of your old drive. There are some tricks for that, so if you end up doing that, we can help you find the data.
