thunderbird changes the contents of an email
I just received an email in Thunderbird through a personal Gmail account. It was not want I was expecting, so I logged into Gmail and checked there. The messages were completely different, including the return email address, and the attachment - the attachment wasn't missing, it was a different document all together.
Dell desktop, Windows 10 Pro 10.0.19045 Build 19045 Thunderbird 128.3.0esr (64-bit)

Try to rebuild the index file of the troubled folder.
Right-click the folder - Properties - Repair Folder
