Just recently Firefox started displaying websites (Yahoo, Youtube, and basically anything other than Wikipedia, Google, and Mozilla.com) incorrectly. The sites show up without any banners or formatting, everything appears like the page's site map. On Youtube videos won't play and just navigating on any page is impossible. Everything is just URL's, there is no real layout to the site anymore or buttons to click. Basically each site is just completely messed up. I've tried clearing all of my history including cache and re-installing Firefox.

Extensions can sometimes be the cause of problems. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, then you can disable your extensions one-by-one until you find out which one is causing the problem. See Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems

If the first option doesn't work try the bottom one

Your Firefox settings and info are kept in a folder separate from the Firefox program, called your profile folder. Try creating a test profile, to see if the problem still occurs. See Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

Firefox isn't displaying websites properly I have the exact same problem, but mine is Windows 7, and my Firefox is 8. I have a gmail page that won't display properly. It is just blank space using Firefox, but the text displays properly using IE9. If a Mozilla/Firefox engineer will contact me, I will forward the email for his/her evaluation.

I cleared the cache, and that fixed the problem.

That is not my problem here, though I can see how it could fix yours. My situation is an email (gmail) that had some text. It displays fine when using I.E. 9, but displays a blank area in Firefox. This *seems* to have only begun recently, with one of the recent upgrades. So, the bug is more serious than a stale link.

Please see my earlier post for the example of what is not being displayed.

Cleared CACHE, HISTORY, EVERYTHING and it still fixed nothing.

I even updated FLASH yet again.

I do know that VISTA is CRAP! I know that VISTA has ActiveX disabled. I'm done with MICRO$OFT! My next computer will have LINUX!

I don't have any examples, but can elaborate a bit: At issue are occasional gmail messages that may have some introductory text like: "See this-- it will amaze you", and nothing else, when viewed on Firefox. But, the same gmail opened on IE9, shows the above AND the missing text, links, etc. (And no, this is not spam, but legitimate messages from friends). It only occurs occasionally...

The next time this happens, I will forward the message to you-- I assume as another reply, like this? Or send me an email address so I can forward it directly.
