Firefox says "Unable to connect" but Interent Explorer works fine

Randomly one day, opened up firefox and it was unable to connect. I have gone to the support sites I have followed everything, yet nothing works. Internet Explorer works just fine so its not my connection. I have also uninstalled and re-installed the entire program it still doesn't work.

I clicked on the 1st link. My McAfee was a little different. But I found where I needed to go, I played around with it a little, kind of had to explore on my own, clicked on something and now it works. Hopefully it'll continue to work when I shut down and turn it back on.
