menu selections within some web sites don't work

With unbuntu 10.04, Firefox 3.6.8, web site calverthall.com, all of the drop-down menus, like Academics>Overview don't work. "Done" stays the same in the bottom, left. A netbook with ubuntu 9.10 and 3.6.8 runs this site great. With pkg mgr, I removed Firefox, and sudo removed every firefox file Search found, reinstalled it, but still not working. youtube videos play great. A consumer opinion web site ran up until it tried to load a video, and it couldn't connect.

On Windows, those menus are part of a Flash movie. Youtube usually is a reliable comparison, but just in case you're seeing HTML5 movies, have you checked functionality on other Flash sites?

I see you have other viewers installed. If you type about:plugins in the location bar and press Enter, can you see whether the main Flash type (application/x-shockwave-flash) has been hijacked by a different viewer?
