When I click a link in a website, it loads in another tab, however i get 100's of new tabs that load with "untitled" and when i close firefox, it just opens by itself again and again
I was on my son's school website and I was looking to click the link to his teachers personal web-page. When I did, many, many "untitled" new tabs kept opening in the same screen. In fact it did not stop until I restarted my computer.
When I tried to close mozilla firefox page, it would then open up a new screen again doing the many, many "untitled" tabs. Every time I clicked the red X at the top of the screen, it would load a new page doing this.
It also did this on one other web page. I am sure that there is just some info that needs to be entered for what to do when you click a link, however I have no clue how to change it.

For the list of teachers there are email addresses in the right hand column, did you click on an email address?
If you did that could explain the multiple tabs being opened. What may have happened is you have the mailto protocol set to open Firefox which results in 100s of tabs opening when you click on an email address. For details on fixing that see Firefox repeatedly opens empty tabs or windows after you click on a link, in particular the section on "Change the action for a content type". My guess is you will find mailto is set to "Use Firefox".

That is exactly what happened. Thank you for the answer. I had looked at the applications but had no clue what to do. Works great now. Thanks for the speedy answer!!!
