Windows Vista (latest patches) Firefox 3.16.13 Thunderbird 3.1.7 (my default mailer)

When I click on a mailto link I get the following error message "Firefox can't find the file at mailto:sale-zc6vg-2215651800@craigslist.org?subject= ..."

Tools -> Options -> Applications has "mailto" set to "Use Thunderbird (default)

The Vista Control Panel Default for "program access and computer defaults" is set to "Custom", but within that it is set to "Use current Web browser" and "Use current e-mail".

When I try to change it to specifically say "Thunderbird", the radio button clicks, but if I return to that screen it is back to "Use current e-mail"

Perhaps you should re-read my original post and the link you sent me to. I followed those direction EXACTLY and it still does not work !

I changed Tools -> Options -> Applications has "mailto" set to "Always Ask". I tested it and choose Thunderbird and it worked fine.

I then changed Tools -> Options -> Applications has "mailto" BACK to "Use Thunderbird (default) and it is now working as expected.

Strange.
