Uninstall button is dim on both. Would like to uninstall or delete the add-on or plugin. (How to do this). I said extension by mistake-- in orig-question-- addons/plugins are the problem. Some I no longer want or some You have disabled for safety etc. If any are no longer usable, then You delete or give Me ability to uninstall(delete) them. A DIM non function button is NO Help.

Please see Cannot remove an add-on (extension or theme), your case seems to be explained in the 'Globally installed extensions' section.

Please let us know whether the manual uninstall as explained at the article works.

I removed Bing with windows. Extensions are now clear. Plugins are still there although, the buttons for them are gone and only allow enable or disable, uninstall button is gone. ??? Looked at Your reference, opened to extensuins-- did not find any of the items listed. I made a jpg of Plugins, will try to include in window below. Otherwise, will wait for Firefox to have function built in to Uninstall any or all Extensions or Plugins. Thanks for Your help. jg --that worked-- will try to add jpg of Your manual uninstall. --worked--. as You can see the folder names are numbers-- when open-- contents do not give clear indication of what to delete etc. So no action done.

You can open this URL to view plugins locations: about:plugins

You may have to visit this URL first: about:config -- and set plugin.expose_full_path to true.

However you have to realise that plugins often are installed with an external application, changing the settings or uninstalling which would be the preferred way to uninstall a plugin.

Disabling the plugins prevents them from being loaded into memory when Firefox starts and should resolve most performance concerns if you have those.

Please let us know if that helps.
