Was ask if I was having similar problems (a bug) when I used a new fresh profile. So I created one. I get same problems with new profile. My new question is how do I get firefox to ask me each time which profile I want to use when I open it. I have changed that don't ask question on and off in the profile manager, but it seems to do nothing to let me choose one way or another. I would like to go back to my everyday profile as default and choose when I want to use my personal one when I choose. So far it keeps going to newly created one by default now.

When you choose to start up a different profile in the profile manager, that should become the new default until you change it again.

I'm surprised it doesn't ask you when you toggle that option; maybe Firefox isn't really shutting down all the way between restarts?

---

If the interactive dialog isn't working, you could manually edit the profiles.ini file. Hopefully that won't be necessary.

I shut down everything and rebooted to make sure all was going to be reset. It now works great. Thank you for your help -- jscher2000
