I have weird cursor marks underneath text boxes........

I have been getting these weird cursor marks underneath anything I type in any kind of text box I open. Once I click off the box, the "marks" disappear. It is VERY distracting! This doesn't happen in IE or other browsers. I am attaching two photos and if anyone can please help, that'd be awesome! Thanks all!Photo #1

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

In Firefox 4 Safe mode disables extensions and disables hardware acceleration.

  • Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.


In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in Safe mode:

  • Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

Alright, so disabling the Add-on features worked. Now how do I figure out which one was the culprit?

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

  • Use "Disable all add-ons" on the Safe mode start window to disable all extensions.
  • Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")

Now, it's reappearing :-( I have to figure it out somehow.
