I have no location (Awesome) bar, where is it?

I upgraded to 4.0 and now there is no location bar. I reloaded but this version confuses me.

Probably the first thing to do would be to put things back where you can work with them and recognize what you are working with. It is possible, though not likely, that new arrangement is so disorienting that you are hitting "Enter" instead of letting the AwesomeBar kick in.

You can make Firefox 4.0.1 look like Firefox 3.6.17, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)

There are many ways of purposely making the AwesomeBar not work, since you are used to it, that is not something that you would have done earlier on purpose such as changing frecency configuration settings. So perhaps you have modified your history or not recording your history such as in Private Browsing, or are removing your browsing history when you close Firefox. (an indication of that would be bookmarks and no history displayed in the awesomebar)
