Hi: I recently upgraded to firefox 6.0. I'm running on a dell laptop using XP. After I close firefox, and work on other tasks, when I try to open firefox later to browse the web- I get a message that the program is already running, but not responding, and that I should close the pgm or reboot. When I use close-alt delete (task manager) to check what is running on the laptop- the the application column is empty, but the prosecces column includes firefox.exe using o cpu, but 87, k memory. I can not end the process from the task manager ? Did not have this problem with 5.0... any suggestions ? can I go back to version 5.0 ? I tried to send an attachment of the task manager info but there is no attachment option on this form note I am logged in as administrator to this laptop. thanks Rob

Must be the "hang at exit" problem.

  1. Stop the Firefox process:
  2. Why Firefox may hang:
  3. Use Firefox Safe Mode to find a problem with an Extension or Plugin:
