When I open Firefox the address bar now goes off-screen as it does with the website I go to.

In order to enter anything into the address bar I need to place the cursor at the top edge of the screen both in Firefox and the chosen website.

Try hitting F11.

It's a toggle that maximizes the window beyond "normal" maximize and gives you the most possible real estate for browsing, with less waste on buttons and edges.

It might be bad form to mention here, but other browsers use the same key for this.

Thanks very much. I was getting frustrated. Glad to know it was only finger problems, likely when reaching for my backspace.

Glad to help, and thanks for the props.

Yeah, it's kind of a nifty feature when you just need a little more room. I discovered it by accident a few years back: Oh NO, what the heck did I do!??!

It's quite easy to hit F11 by accident on a laptop. A coworker set me straight.
