Upgrading to a newer firefox, will Bookmarks carryover from the older firefox to the newer firefox??
Going from Firefox 3.6 to Firefox 7. Would bookmarks carryover? Or would I have to backup bookmarks or use Firefox sync?? To have the bookmarks carryover to the newer Firefox.

Please note that Firefox 7 is still a beta version. Installing Firefox 7 now will place you in the beta update channel and you will always be updated to the latest beta version in the future. To return to the release update channel you would then need to install the latest release version over the beta or do a "clean install" of the latest release version. Firefox 7 is scheduled to be released on 09-27-2011 (scheduled date is subject to change).
When upgrading, your personal information (aka, Profile) which contains such things as your bookmarks, passwords, extensions, etc.) are always carried over. For safekeeping, you should keep a backup of your personal information; without a backup, if you experienced a hard drive failure, what you do?
