I want my page to go to the default "about:blank" page when I open a new tab. But my mother installed a software that forced a new tab to go to a Yahoo search bar page. Is there any way to change it back?

I have checked my add-ons and uninstalled any pertaining to Yahoo and it still persists.

Using version 7.0.1.

want New Tab to open "about:blank" instead of a Yahoo search page:

You probably also have the Yahoo Toolbar whether shown or not. See View > Toolbars > ...

Whether you Yahoo toolbar or not the following should revert Yahoo changes.

I've already uninstalled anything pertaining to the Yahoo toolbar.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
