Firefox 7.0.1 on Fedora15 looks like Firefox 4, but Firefox 7.0.1 on Windows 7 has a new format. Why is this?

I have been using firefox 7.0.1 on Windows 7 since its launch. It has a new layout which I find easy to cope with.

I have a dual boot system with Fedora as the second OS. Firefox 7.0.1 is the default browser distributed with FC15. Why is the FC15 version of Firefox 7.0.1 identical in format to Firefox 3/4?

Which differences are you referring to?

Firefox on Linux will always looks different from Firefox on Window.

On Linux you will still have the title bar and the Firefox button will appear on the Tab bar if you hide the menu bar.

Thanks for the response. I did eventually find that the difference was in the selection or otherwise of the menu bar. For some reason, the default differs between distributions. Actually, once this change is made, Firefox looks remarkably similar on both platforms.

It is good to know there is someone out there in Firefox land who will respond to confused users like myself. With many other products, especially ones that you pay for, there is often no hope of a response.

I have been a committed fan of your product family since Netscape 0.9x and even Mosaic!. Keep up the good work.
