When you open certain sites appears along a nuisance site (games) I want to block. Under Options> Security> Exceptions only find the "button" to "Allow". How to get the state to enter the site - in this case http://notification.travian.pt/ - is "Blocked"?

Easy tiger, you can get it done using an extension - BlockSite

  • Install the extension
  • Restart Firefox
  • Go to Add-on Manager ( Firefox button > Add-ons )
  • Select BlockSite, click on Options
  • Click on Add button and simply give the website you want to block.
  • Done :)

Greetings!

I do not speak / write English. This is a translation (by Google) of Portuguese

I installed 0.7.1.1 BlockSite by link you sent me (11/27/2011) from notifications@support.mozilla.com - [[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fire.../blocksite/] BlockSite] - but there seems to be a bug in the program:

  • - When entering a URL (yours!) In "Whitelist" the same is also inserted in "Backlist".
  • - Also when entering a URL - http://notification.travian.pt/ http://notification.travian.pt/ - in "Backlist" the same URL appears in "Whitelist".
  • - Site that contains neither in "Backlist" nor "Whitelist" appear with the message "This website, or elements thereof, are on the blacklist BlockSite (or not on the whitelist) and have not Been Loaded" in a bar on the top of page .

It seems to be only one database, common to "whitelist" and "Backlist". If so, the extra seems incomplete.

- It is solution to this problem has solutions, or should I uninstall BlockSite to make sure that the sites that want to open up completely?

Related topic: - I have a non-financial contribution to the developer who will not leave here. If he wants to contact me directly can give you my e-mail. If he speak / write French (I do not believe that dominates my tongue!), Will be much easier!

NOTE: I had to disable BlockSite in order to open [http://example.com https://support.mozilla.com/questions/899524#answer-280258 and write them!

Well, You are absolutely right. BlockSite extension has some bugs. Only black listing will work with BlockSite at this moment. I thought it can be helpful to you since you just wanted to block http://notification.travian.pt/.

By the way, you can always use Adblock Plus. Just install it and add new filter, done.

Example:

For Blacklisting notification.travian.pt ---> ||notification.travian.pt/* For White listing notification.travian.pt ---> @@||notification.travian.pt/*

You can also get these things done by clicking on Adblock Plus icon on the status bar of your browser. (See screenshot)

By the way, language is not a barrier since we have Google Translate :)
