Have installed latest Firefox which all seems ok. Existing add-ons now need to be individually enabled every time Firefox starts, will not enable automatically as before

Just got back to using Firefox (with 8). Have the same problem. It is a pain.

I have had this problem for a long time and inadvertently solved it. My A-V was Bitdefender, and that was expiring, so I removed it and installed Avira for the time being. Now my Firefox works fine and I no longer have to install my add-ons every time I load Firefox. My problem must have been that Bitdefender blocked the add-ons. I suggest you check whether your anti-virus protection is doing the same!
