I can see utube videos but firefox will not deliver sound, IE does.
I can play AND hear videos stored in my file system using the usual media players like windows media player. I cannot hear audio when playing from within Firefox--like Utube. I hate to say it but IE works just fine.

On your task bar click on the Speaker icon next to the clock and then Mixer; check whether Mozilla Firefox is muted or not.
