search bar is missing
I've always used beta versions when available so ofcourse I installed 9.0 beta 1 when it arrived, updating from official 8. After that something happened that I find really annoying and uncomfortable.
The small search bar disappeared and I cant get it back. Now Firefox is just as Chrome with one bar for addresses and searches and I don't like that.
I've tried customize may times. When in customizing mode everything looks like it should but when I save its still the same one bar.
In options and about:config I cant find anything to "unbundle" the bars. Restarted Firefox in safe mode and resetting to defaults. Uninstalled and reinstalled 8, 9 betas, 9, 9.0.1 and its still the same. Even tried uninstalling with Revo to delete every trace. I don't wanna reinstall windows just to get that bar back. I was hoping a new version might solve the issue but no.
Is there any solution? A registry item that needs editing, a command in Firefox ?
I use Firefox, Chrome and Opera on my computer, but FF is the heavily used one, the other 2 are used casually and only for certain sites. And now Opera is starting to look more useful to me just because of that bar !!!

Have you tried using Reset toolbars and controls?
Yes, I have done that. Like I said above: "Restarted Firefox in safe mode and resetting to defaults."
Now I'm on 10 beta 1 ... same problem !
Modified
The only item in Safe Mode with default in it is Restore default search engines, that isn't what I said or what is needed to fix your problem.
You need to Reset toolbars and controls when the Search Bar is missing.
Sorry if I didn't make myself more clear. I've already done "Reset toolbars and controls". All 4 boxes except for "Delete bookmarks".
If I press Continue in Safe Mode it shows the search bar. But when I restart FF in normal mode its gone again.
