I installed Ashampoo Snap 4 (screen capture) and it imposed ashempoo on Firefox. This seems to have occurred with an unexpected upgrade. I tried returning my homepage via isntructions. It does not work.

The following information is for version 5 of the program, but may apply to version 4 also:

  • In that article, it says:
    • Note: The application provides two installation modes. The Express will from one to install a browser toolbar, Will change the user-defined browser's homepage and the search engines. If you do not want any changes to be applied to your system, you are advised to select the Custom installation.

You may need to uninstall the application with Firefox closed, then restart Firefox:

  1. Reset your Firefox home page --> https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How%20to%20set%20the%20home%20page
  2. Reset your Location/URL bar search engine:
  3. Verify that everything is working to your liking
  4. Lastly, close/exit Firefox and reinstall the Ashampoo Snap application, this time using the Custom install option.
  5. Reopen Firefox and test homepage and search to be sure everything is as expected.
