firefox 11 - the current - flickers continuously. Any ideas
since upgrading from 3.7, Firefox flickers. I have almost reached the point of abandoning it. I am using win 7 on a compac notebook.
I went backwards to 3.7 and the problem disappeared, but the system auto-installed a new version
I searched the net - a lot of people seem to have the same issue. It happens on every site

Hi donntrent1,
You might want to take a look at this article:

You could also try starting Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to see if it's an add-on/theme issue or you could try creating a new profile.
Hopefully this helps!
Try to disable hardware acceleration.
- Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
If disabling hardware acceleration works then check if there is an update available for your graphics display driver.
thanks. I have disabled a number of plug-ins that I can't recall installing - silverlight, quark promote, google talk, microsoft office, and Java. The constant flickering seems to have stopped, so thanks. It still flickers on scrolling, but I guess I can live with that
Thanks - I use Windows Update automatically, so the drivers are up to date. I have cured the constant flickering by disabling most of the plug-ins - silverlight, quark promote, google talk, microsoft office, and Java. The constant flickering seems to have stopped, so thanks. It still flickers on scrolling, but I guess I can live with that
