why do you hate us?
I just upgraded from 3.6 [yep still had it] directly to 12. I see you've undone a few changes bcoz of which I had decided to stay on 3 till now. BUT A status bar is the most basic function, even ie1 [probably] had it, why in hells name shud I have to download anything for it? and where is the back n forward buttons history dropdown? they were almost the most useful buttons there were. I mean I played around and searched the net for a few thing that could be fixed thru changing setting like tabs on top or the missing stop ref buttons which is fine but those two are the most imp things to me. We even have a status bar at sm software at work which has a status bar that most ppl just hide, NOT ME! And I dont care if it makes me sound ocd but I need that status bar so unless you guys put it back, I wont have an option. I'll either have to go back to 3.6 [i'll gladly do it] or search sm other browser which has one. I'm probably gonna use ironic wrong but How ironic will it be if I use ff12 [firefox not final fantasy] to search for another browser? Hmmmmm that is exactly what happended to ie whn u guys 1st came out.

You can also Middle-click or CTRL+left-click a link or a Bookmark to open it in a New Tab (middle-click = press the mouse scroll wheel).

hello, you can use the status-4-evar extension to replicate the functionality of the stausbar in the addon bar.
in the new firefox versions you can access the backward/forward dropdown by right-clicking on the buttons.
there where test studies conducted on usage patterns of the ui and it was established that people way more often use "open in new tab" than "open in new window" in the context menu (when you right-click on a link). so the option to open in a new tab was put in the first place to reflect this usage pattern & to make it accessible faster.
The Status bar was replaced by the Add-on Bar, however there is the Status-4-evar extension as mentioned to have old way again.
The back/forward history drop down is still there as either left-click and hold or right-click them. If you want the drop marker also then see this extension. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/backforward-dropmarker/
Neither Stop or Reload are missing as they can be moved elsewhere (from far right of Location(address) bar) as you like with the Customize window open.
