I have prompted by Ubuntu to update to 12.04 for some weeks and decided today that I would do it. All seemed fine until I tried to connect to the internet or check my emails. If I try connecting to the internet then I'm told the web-address is not available. I have rung Canonical (the London office kindly gave me the number) and although I don't have an account the young man that answered did guide me through the process of checking my system and I can connect with my router and all the other computers in the house can wired or wirelessly connect. Also, even this Ubuntu computer can as it is duel boot and via windows connects. I can get to the router which is a BT HomeHub, and I have Infinity so should be online at 30+mb. But if I try to get online with Ubuntu and Firefox or get my email via Evolution, I'm stumped.

Hi,

You can try to set No proxy in Firefox Preferences > Advanced > Network > Settings. Likewise for Evolution.

Please also see this and this.

The Ubuntu Forum would also be helpful.
