Problems signing in to yahoo mail
I have just recently changed my yahoo mail password. Now i cannot use my web mail notifier button as it says yahoo mail not checked. Also, I keep getting this pop up saying that my user id or password is invalid. Now this only happens on firefox and not chrome. I have tried deleting cookies but that does not work

When you have a problem with one particular site, another good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache.
orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Offline Storage : "Clear Now"
If you have saved your Yahoo password in Firefox, try deleting that here:
orange Firefox button or classic Tools menu > Options > Security
Use the "Saved Passwords" button view and delete logins.
Which webmail notifier are you using?
Also: you can try to configure the web mail notifier anew.
If the problem persists, you can also try the Reset Firefox feature via Help (Alt + H) > Troubleshooting Information, and then install and configure the web mail notifier and configure it.
(To revert to the previous profile, close the new profile, start Firefox and choose the *.default profile. While the Profile Manager is open, you can also delete the newly reset profile (the one containing random numbers).)

I also have just recently changed my yahoo mail password for 2 accounts and web mail notifier showed 'yahoo mail not checked only for one of them'. It was just a hunch but the only difference was that password for the account that stopped working was 14 characters long and I decided to change it again for the one just 12 chars long. That solved the issue - web mail notifier picked up the account right after the second change. Hope this helps you too.
I had the same problem with one of my ymail.com and one yahoo.com.br mail accounts these last days. I followed the tips on this page and the one that worked for me was this: clear all yahoo cookies and clear the cache as suggested above and restart firefox. That's it. To select the cookies you want to delete go here: Tools>Options>Privacy>"remove individual cookies". On the new window that pops-up search for yahoo.com folders with your email and delete them. Cheers!
Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
