I can't comment or like anything on Facebook when using Firefox. Other browsers work, just not Facebook.
I've tried clearing all my history, cookies, and everything else on Firefox, but it doesn't fix the problem.
Whenever I try to comment on a post in facebook it says "Unable to post comment." And it won't let me like any posts either.
Google Chrome works perfectly with Facebook. I don't want to quit using Firefox, but unless I get a solution soon that may be what I have to do.

I recently got my Facebook working again when I disabled my extensions all at once. It was a mistake though because then, I didn't know what could be causing the glitch. After enabling them one by one, doing the necessary restarts, etc., I noticed that the only time Facebook won't load my messages or allow me to like/comment is when the Effective Measure Community Plugin 3.1.0 (by Effective Measure Pty Ltd) is enabled. I thought maybe similar plugins or products of the same maker aren't compatible with Facebook and Firefox 17. IDK.
Bottomline is: there's an extension/plugin that's gone rogue. There may be more.

During the past couple of weeks users who set Firefox to approve cookies manually (i.e., a dialog comes up to approve/block cookies) have had problems on Facebook and some other sites. Can you check out these threads to see whether that sounds relevant to your issue?
- Certain websites do not work properly in normal browsing mode but work in private browsing perfectly. - solved with manually added cookie permission for facebook.com
I don't think it's related to your issue on Facebook, but your plugins list shows two versions of the Acrobat plugin. You might need to delete one of those manually if the updater isn't cleaning that up.
I have exactly the same problem. It only affects FaceBook and only in Firefox but it's really annoying. I can post status updates but can't comment on them or on anything else. The message "Unable to post comment." with the option to "try again" appears every time. Also, when I try to "Like" something it's as if it works for a split second and then self "unlikes" again. It's only today I've started to have this problem. I've tried jscher2000's idea but it did not solve this problem. 'Concerned a virus or something might be the cause... :/

Hi weegerri, more generally, when you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
1. Clear Firefox's Cache Completely
(WIN) orange Firefox button or Tools menu > Options > Advanced
(MAC) Firefox > Preferences > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
2. Remove your facebook.com cookies in this dialog
While viewing a page on the site:
right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies" or
Tools > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
I noticed two discussion threads on Facebook Help that seem related, none with any specific solutions yet:
No, just tried clearing cache and cookies. Same problem is still there.
It does seem that many are having this same problem. :/ All very strange.
Modified
OK, 'thought I better update. I don't know if it was something I did or something FB did but it's all started working again as suddenly and mysteriously as it went wrong. :/
Yep same thing happened to me. Somehow the problem fixed itself. Whatever I was doing didn't fix it at the time, but after class I checked Facebook again and found out I can like and comment again. I swear someone else fixed this.
Thanks for all the replies.
Well, I did remove a Firefox plug-in that I didn't recognise and didn't remember installing but that did not seem to solve the problem at the time... it fixed itself an hour or two later. Unfortunately I can't remember the name of the plug-in. Maybe this was a problem at FaceBook's end of things which they fixed themselves? We may never know. :/
