On my desktop- when I click on the firefox icon the page only appears on the 20% right side of the screen- It's a dell desktop using windows 7- I just downloaded the latest release of firefox- is that a mistake?

Can't you drag that the border of window to make it bigger?

You can check for problems with the localstore.rdf file.
