Email links in Eudora do not work. The suggestions in Firefox Help have been of no help. What to do?

Email links in Eudora email do not go anywhere, if Firefox is set as the default browser. If I set MSIE as the default browser, links from Eudora open just fine in MSIE.

Links from Eudora to Firefox always used to work just fine. Now they no longer do. I have followed the suggestions (both methods) in the Firefox Help section to set Firefox as the default browser, but links in Eudora emails do not open in Firefox..

How can I get the links to work properly in Firefox? TIA!

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache. Note: This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to. To clear cache and cookies do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
  2. Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
  3. Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
  4. From the details list, check Cache and Cookies and uncheck everything else.
  5. Now click the Clear now button.

Further information can be found in the Clear your cache, history and other personal information in Firefox article.

Sorry. This did no good.

That still suggests that there is a problem with the default browser if links opened via an external program aren't working.

You can also try to disable DDE:

Thanks for your responses. No success trying the suggestions in your first link.

As for the second link, I get no error windows. Clicking on a link in Eudora just goes nowhere. I did a reinstall of Firefox to no avail. Also, I am not comfortable to trying to edit the registry.

I guess I'll just have to live with the problem, or set MSIE as my default browser. Thanks again for your assistance.
