On FF 16.0.2 I can't see thumbails when I open a new page, I selected remember history and checked off cache.

On FF 16.0.2 I can't see my thumbails when I open a new page (boxes appear empty). I used to be able to see them with the previous version.

In the preferences privacy section I checked off cache under settings and also clear history when Firefox closes and selected Remember history. I looked under about:config and saw that browser.cache.disk.enable is on "true". I still can't see my thumbails. I'm not a computer expert by any stretch of the imagination. What can I do to see thumbail images again?
