On espn.com there is a black bar that has a "myespn" button and several other buttons that can be customized. When the mouse is placed over these buttons (but not clicked), the tab is supposed to open down and reveal more options and information. However, this has stopped working. The links can still be clicked and work fine but the bar will not open up. I have tried deleting history, cookies, ect. I have tried reinstalling firefox. I have tried disabling add-ons. I have also tried the site in other browsers and the same problem occurs in Chrome but it works fine in Internet Explorer. It also does not work whether I am logged into the website or not. I hope there is something that can help me fix this problem! Thanks!

Works here in Firefox 18.0.1.

That menu is created via JavaScript, so make sure that you aren't blocking JavaScript.
There is also security software that can block JavaScript, so check that as well.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

Try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

I checked to see if JavaScript was enabled and it was. I'm not sure how to check to see if it is blocked.

It did not work in safe mode.

Same problem with a new profile.

And it did not work in Windows Safe mode.

Any other suggestions?
