Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
You need to scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.

i did a melware and run anti-viruse and every thing i can think of.....is there away to save bookmarks and skin and remove firefox and then reinstall it and put my bookmarks back in as well as my skin if i can do that would be great
See:
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Creating a profile":
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer some files from an existing profile to the new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.
usmc63, make sure you did everything as explained here before resetting your browser:

Normally, it shouldn't be very difficult to remove CouponDropdown when everything is done correctly. Good luck!
THANKS EVERY ONE FOR UR HELP NOTHING WORKED SO I HAD TO REINSTALL FIREFOX EVEN REMOVING FIREFOX AND REINSTALLING IT I DIDN'T LOSE ANY OF MY BOOKMARKS OR BACK GROUND PIC AS I THOUGHT I WOULD SO ALL IS FINE NOW AGAIN THANKS YOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP
Its not malware so most of the antivirus products including MSE and Norton will not detect or remove it. It is very aggressive adware however. But can be pretty easily removed through add/remove programs, just reset your FF settings after to restore your home and search settings.
I read about it here: http://www.shouldiremoveit.com/CouponDropDown-28735-program.aspx

Hi, after having removed this a few months back it re-appeared again tonight. I know I only recently installed a couple of extensions and the culprits were: 1) "FreeHDSPort.TV" which I downloaded from www.frontrowsports.com to watch free live football. I will only enable it when I again want to watch a free league match again. It serves only one purpose and I don't need it enabled.
2) "DoNotTrackMe" BUT this one was for a similar ad company Easy-Inline. I used DoNotTrackMe to stop the Like and Share buttons sending back info to sites like Facebook and Twitter whom then use the info to target specific ads at you. This one sadly was a useful extension but will now be consigned to history
Hope it helps somebody! but in essence, disable your extensions and re-enable them one by one, closing down and restarting Firefox after each one. Rich
