I can't get rid of a bookmark toolbar. There is an x in the corner but nothing happens when I click it. Nothing.
It's not the normal bookmark toolbar instead it's located on the left side of the browser. It's titled Bookmarks and it has an x in the corner but there is no content, no bookmarks.
What is it? And how do I get rid of it?

Can you use Ctrl+B to toggle the bookmarks sidebar?
You can check for problems caused by a corrupted localstore.rdf file.
No, no toggling
Did you look at the mozillaZine knowledge base article and deleted the localstore.rdf file?
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory: Show Folder (Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder)
