Will earlier versions before firefox 12 work with windows xp?
I want to know if Firefox 12 and earlier versions will work with windows xp. Can I still use firefox 12 and earlier versions for the internet? I tried and it seemed they worked well. Why? I thought mozilla said they won't work. I thought Mozilla said earlier versions of firefox before 12 will not work!
Firefox says:Firefox no longer works with some versions of Windows XP
Firefox 3.6.28 and Firefox 12 are the last versions of Firefox that will work with the original version of Windows XP and Windows XP Service Pack 1. They won't be updated with security and stability fixes. To keep your computer and personal information safe, we recommend that you upgrade for free to Windows XP Service Pack 3 and install the latest Firefox. This article goes over your upgrade options.
Confusion. Who has a honest answer? Is 3.6.28 and 12 the only ones that will work? I ask because it says last ones.! I tried firefox 9 on windows xp and I thought it worked!

No reason why Firefox 12.0 and earlier will not work on WinXP SP2 + 3 and newer Windows. The minimum Windows requirement for Firefox 13.0 and newer is WinXP SP2 and newer as Win2000 was the minimum for Firefox 12.0 and older.
Also you should not use old versions for regular use due to them having known potential vulnerabilities that are fixed in new versions. https://www.mozilla.org/security/known-vulnerabilities/
