I keep getting an error message when I send certain emails: Sending of message failed. Unable to open temporary file C: users/Marlene/Appdata/local/temp/nsmail-3.tmp Check your 'temporary directory setting.' I've had this before. I deleted temp files and old nsm files in my profile. The message appears but when I try again, it does send successfully. However, I've done all those steps and it still happens. Not with every message, it's very erratic. I use Thunderbird for Windows Vista 64 bit. Should I uninstall thunderbird and reinstall? thanks for any help.

I think so. I have mcafee and have had issues with email before. I don't scan incoming attachments in real time scanning. I noticed that it's kind of unpredictable, Sometimes it sends, and sometimes i have to try like ten times, or it won't save drafts. I changed my preferences again to leave spam in the inbox and manually delete it. But it seems McAfee and thunderbird constantly have issues!
