I had to change my gmail accnt password online and now I receive msg "configuration could not be verified" when I try to sign in with new password.

I had to change my gmail account password on line. I can access my account with the new password through my browser and my cell phone. But when I try to sign in to my gmail account in Thunderbird using the new password I get a "Configuration could not be verified" error message. Any help would be appreciated. Thank You Brendan

That sounds like you're trying to create a new account. What exactly are you doing?
