Where can I download v28, having to add a huge add-on (I try to keep them to a minimum), just to get my add-on bar back.

Thanks, oh crud, I didn't realize the b stood for beta. Back to my search. Guess I'll have to get it from oldversions.com or whatever that is.

I want to use 28 until Mozilla responds to all the complaints about it being missing from within the program, vs. having to add more and more add-ons just to retain the functionality that (from the posts I've seen) many folks use.

Sort of like removing the turn signal lever from a car because so many folks don't use it...  :)

Thanks, I'll use this instead of the Classic Theme Restorer. But this didn't answer my question.

I try to keep my add-ons to a minimum, this is an option Firefox/Mozilla shouldn't have removed.

There IS a customize, show/hide toolbars, why couldn't they leave it to be shown? Shades of Google forcing folks to THEIR way of doing things!).

I did find where to download any of the older versions of Firefox, hope this helps someone else.

If you just need/want the latest US English, Windows one, it's here:

  • removed link to 28 beta
  • use older versions at your own risk!

The reason we don't link to FTP sides is because Mozilla wants users to stay on the current version of Firefox to get the necessary bug fixes to come out.

Also the link that contains 28.0b9 isn't even the full release version, it's a beta! Note 28.0b9 Removed beta link

Feel free to use the old unsupported and insecure versions of Firefox. Please however remember that puts your System and personal data at an increased risk. You may then wish to mitigate that by having well rehearsed bare metal restore strategies or using a virtual machine.

Your choice, bro.

I've marked your last reply as the solution since this is pretty much wrapped up

Do not get any version of Firefox from random unofficial download sites as some sites have been known to serve a bundled version or tried to pass off other builds like a RC or Beta build as a Release.

You were in the correct place as you need the 28.0 folder.

Note that Firefox 28.0 does not have the security fixes that Firefox 29.0 has.
