Hello, I've gone to "options-general' and clicked the 'Use current pages' button so that Firefox can open some multiple tabs every time i start it. however this just isn't working. Firefox keeps opening a single tab(default Google search) page every time i restart it.

How can i fix this ? Many thanks in advance.

hi thetrad9, you appear to have a user.js file present in your profile folder which is used to overwrite custom settings. please try this: go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information > profile folder - "show folder", then a new window will open up. in this window look out for a file named user.js. in case it is present , delete or rename this file and restart firefox afterwards.

How to fix preferences that won't save

since this is often an issue caused bay adware on a system, i'd also recommend to run a scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner.

What was the content of the user.js file?

Do you keep the correct setting of the home page if you check that in Options/Preferences > General?

You can also check this pref on the about:config page.

There is software like Advanced SystemCare with its Surfing Protection feature that can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.
