how do I change settings to select app to open downloads?

I used to open downloads with pdf viewer. Now I don't get an option. Downloads list automatically opens in firefox, but when I select a doc, it never opens.

Did you check the settings for Portable Document Format (Preview in Firefox) files in "Options > Applications"?

Hi. I have "settings" within firefox, but not "options". And nothing that leads to "applications".
