When I click on Thunderbird for my email the bottom half of screen has the Thunderbird advertisement on it. I cannot get full screen for my email. Does anybody know of a remedy for this?

Pressing F8 toggles the Message Pane on and off.

If you want the Message Pane but just not the Start Page turn it off in Options. Options-general uncheck the start page.
