Why can't firefox deal with accents? I'm using the portuguese dictionary and it never gives me the suggestions with the accents, even tho it knows the words...
Hello, I'm Portuguese but right now I'm typing using an UK keyboard because for me, it's better for developing ( easier access to brackets and stuff ).
The problem is that it lacks a lot of the accents of the Portuguese keyboard... While i type in English most of the time, it makes me suggestion dependent when it comes to typing in Portuguese and that's my issue with firefox.
I have the Portuguese dictionary but it rarely gives me a good suggestion with the accents.... It forces me to right clicking words and google search them since it will always give me the right suggestion.
Examples: Words with "ão" or "õe"; if i type "nao", "sao", "Joao", "aviao" or "campeoes", firefox wont suggest "não" (no), "são" (are or saint), "João" ( John in portuguese ), "avião" (airplane) or "campeões" (champions)
But the thing is, the dictionary knows those words, if i type them correctly with the accent, the red mark disappears.

Your posting ended up in the en-US queue (see the URL bar when viewing that thread). I'm not sure how all the localized versions of this forum are related to each other, but try asking again starting here - https://support.mozilla.org/pt-PT/products/firefox
That should get you to where you might get an answer, as I don't believe that we here in en-US fora queue have any support contributors around who are fluent in Portuguese and might be familiar with the issue you have.
