Right clicking opens the webpage like a normal left clikc would
Hi, so i have this really annoying problem in my firefox browser...And yes i have tried reinstalling it and running in safemode.
Usually when you right click on a link you want to open you get this menu where you can choose to open in a new tab and so on. But last 5-6 months my firefox has changed, now when i right click on a link on some specific webpages i use often, it enters the link like it normally would with a left click on the mouse, also it shows you the menu as a right click would.
Basically it opens the webpage and also gives you right click menu, but not on all webpages. One of these pages is a popular newspaper used in Norway such as Dagbladet.no where it happens all the time.
Anyone experienced this problem before? It happens both with my mouse and mousepad.

Let’s do a full clean re-install;
Download Firefox For All languages And Systems {web link}
Save the file. Then Close Firefox.
Using your file browser, open the Programs Folder on your computer.
Windows: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86)
Mac: Open the "Applications" folder. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-download-and-install-firefox-mac
Linux: Check your user manual. If you installed Firefox with the distro-based package manager, you should use the same way to uninstall it. See Install Firefox on Linux; https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-firefox-linux
If you downloaded and installed the binary package from the Firefox download page, simply remove the folder Firefox in your home directory. http://www.mozilla.org/firefox#desktop ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Do Not remove the profiles folder.
Look for, and rename any Mozilla or Firefox program folders by adding .old to them. Do not rename the Mozilla Thunderbird folder if there is one.
After rebooting the computer, run a registry scanner if you have one. Then run the installer. If all goes well, remove the OLD folders when you are done. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++ If there is a problem, start your Computer in safe mode and try again.

Hi, thanks for reply. I tryed to everything as described over and i have done it before but i still have the same issue. This problem has lasted since i did a fresh install of W10 on my computer and present since day 1. When i had W7 this was never a problem.
The good old days....I seen someone have similar problems in the forum in 2014 but not in the last couple of years. I dont have this problem when running IE or Chrome, i almost tempted to change to chrome if i cant fix this but i have been running firefox since the beginning and it would be a shame.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.
A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?
The problem is still there even in Safe Mode turned on.
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.
You will need to restart Firefox for this to take effect so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.,) and then perform these steps:
In Firefox 54 and below:
- Click the menu button
and select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac, Linux).
- Select the Advanced panel and the General tab.
- Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
- Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.
In Firefox 55 and above:
- Click the menu button and select Options (Windows) or Preferences (Mac, Linux).
- Select the General panel.
- Under Performance, uncheck Use recommended performance settings. Additional settings will be displayed.
- Uncheck Use hardware acceleration when available.
- Close Firefox completely and then restart Firefox to see if the problem persists.

Try to disable multi-process tabs in Firefox. You can disable multi-process tabs in Firefox by setting the related prefs to false on the about:config page.

Type about:config<enter> in the address bar. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. At the top of the screen is a search bar.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

Do you have another mouse that you can use to rule out a hardware problem?
Yes, you said other web browsers don't have that problem on right-click, but I have worn out the right mouse button more times (at least a dozen in 18 years on the internet - yeah I liked the cheap no-name ones) than I can recall due to how often I use that button. And with some moused (? meese or mice ?) the worn out mouse worked a lot better in IE when it was just "broken" in Firefox.
Yes, also the mousepad on my laptop triggers the same response.
I have a mouse pad I keep disabled because it is always sending false signals.
