How can I switch to IE in Firefox 55 and future updates.
IE Tab and its alternatives no longer work. When I updated to Firefox 55 with IE Tab enabled I lost all my tabs and the ability to switch to IE for sites that do not support Firefox.

Thanks for the information. Apparently the functionality of this Add-On is one that Mozilla no longer supports. It appears that my only recourse is to reinstall an earlier version of Firefox if I want to keep the functionality of IE Tab. It would be nice if Mozilla would not install new versions of Firefox without warning of the potential consequences and providing a simple way of undoing the installation of the new unwanted version.

Hi !
Separate issue : You need to update your Flash, for your system details show that you have an older version, which can cause problems.
The latest version of Adobe Flash is 26.0.0.151
Uninstaller : https://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html
You can download te latest version from here : https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Note : some 'extras' may be offered in the download.
As for switching to IE since the add-ons no longer work :
In order not to lose the tabs you're on with Firefox : before switching to IE , click on the '-' (minus) button in the upper right corner, then go to IE. When you're done with that, close IE and click on the Firefox icon on the task bar and you'll be back where you were before.

The problem first occurred when I automatically updated to Firefox 55 with IE Tab enabled. After the update the correct number of tabs all appeared on the tab bar but except for the last one they were all empty. I narrowed the problem down to IE Tab. If I disable IE Tab and restart, I have to restore a previous session to regain my tabs. When I try to enable IE Tab in Firefox 55 and restart, the problem reappears and I lose my tabs again.
Is there a fix to enable a Firefox 55 user to quickly display the Firefox tab in IE as one could before Firefox 55?
There are several different IE Tab add-ons, and some may be more up-to-date than others. You could check the add-ons site to see whether any are still getting good reviews.
Meanwhile, you could consider opening those "IE-only" pages in IE instead of in Firefox. Maybe this extension will help: Open in IE (note: won't run in Firefox 57+).
I checked all of the IE tab add-ons, and none of them have been updated lately (or will be migrated to WebExtensions as far as I can tell). Maybe contact the developer(s) of the add-on(s) you would like to use ?

I still think you might try to contact the developer of the add-on - who knows : they just might decide to update and even migrate their add-on to Webextensions.
Also : you could give feedback about this here :
Hi mechprof1, the Extended Support Release of Firefox 52 will get security updates until about next April or so. "ESR" was originally developed for companies that prefer long-term stability over new features, but anyone can use it. More info: https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/organizations/faq/
