Do live bookmark icons in the toolbar change to indicate new items arrived?

more options

In past versions of Firefox, the toolbar icons for live bookmarks were dimmed when all content had been read. When new items arrived, the icon became bold as a notification that new content was available to read. Now the icons seem to be always bold with no indication of new content arrival. Is this correct?

An animation plays when there is new content now.

The icons on my toolbar do not animate when there is new content. They do not change at all. I have to select them to see if there is any new content. Is there some way to activate the animation you see?
