Thunderbird flashes before my eyes

I have a problem with Thunderbird (and sometimes Firefox too). When I start Thunderbird, it flashes parts of the windows and disappears almost completely. I only see parts of Thunderbird and when I move my cursor to hoover over it, it disappears again. I'm barely able to click on anything and it certainly doesn't function at all.

I checked Flash and updated that. Also drivers on website (using a 'new' Dell Latitude E7450). Is there maybe something I need to pay special attention to? It seems to influence Firefox a little bit too (not always though)

It happened before on another laptop and I went back to Windows 8.1 (now running Windows 10). There the problem is gone.

The problem was probably an interaction with the video driver that could have been ameliorated by telling thunderbird not to use hardware acceleration. But as you don't have Thunderbird it is a moot point.

Hi Wayne,

Thank you for your response. I can't check if it happens in safe mode too, because I already changed client. Uninstalled Thunderbird and started to use EmClient.

I still want to know if it could have been a problem with .Network? I tried to install Mailbird first, but it gave an error and said that the installed .Network (4.7 or 4.8 something) wasn't supported by the system. Could it be that Thunderbird had the same problem? It has 4.6.8 now

Cheers, Frank
