When the upgrade was installed the setip dialogue box came up, and it defaulted to IMAP. Once the account was setup I lost all my emails. I was using a POP server. Subsequntly I was able to locate the file in my MAC inder the Thunderbird->Mail->Local Folders as an 'inbox' file (~10GB). How does one 'restore' this in Thunderbird? Help needed please and will be very much appreciated.

An mbox file, like the 10GB 'inbox' that's in Mail/Local Folders should appear under Local Folders in the Folder Pane, but if not, delete the inbox.msf file, with TB closed, then restart TB. Other mbox files might still be in the account subfolder for the POP account, e.g. in Mail/pop.gmail.com. Copy those mbox into Mail/Local Folders (ignore the like-named .msf file) and restart TB.
