when deleting a mail, tb moves it to the trash folder and because it has moved it can't make it read anymore. First moving it to the trash and after that marking it as read does not work probably because it has moved. So now what??????? Deleting a mail and marking it read is the first thing you do with filters and it's broken.

I don't know what version you are using. I tested this with 102 and it works as designed. Marked it read and moved to trash.

102.0.3 I'm sorry, I should have mentioned, it's the tray icon that still shows there is unread mail, even though the filter marked it read.

Question was : cant make filter that marks a mail read and deletes it But you say: the email was moved to Trash and is marked as read.

So the issue is not the filter nor the move of mail nor marking it as read.

The issue is you have a 'Tray icon' located bottom right of task bar - saying there is an unread mail, but is it talking about the same email or do you have other unread new mail? What happens if you click on the Tray icon ?

Sorry it took some time, i had to wait for a mail to trigger the filter. When i click the tray icon it opens thunderbird but not at the mail that's causing the icon to show unread mail. So everything is ok with the filter, except the icon reports unread mail.
