Starting Yesterday Cannot launch Firefox without disabling Ad Blocker. My only options when launching Firefox is Go Add-free with Premium or Remove Ad blocker. Does this mean I can no longer use my current Ad-blocker that I paid for? Ron

Hi Ron, there is no Premium version of Firefox. There is just Firefox.

Where do you get a message about needing to disable your ad blocker? Is it on your regular home page, or has some other site wormed its way into your Firefox? Please double-check the address bar of the page telling you this.

Some sites definitely will insist on allowing ads, but the problem is not always caused by the most obvious add-on; it also can be caused by privacy add-ons such as Ghostery and Privacy Badger, or even the built-in Enhanced Tracking Protection feature.

Let's get into a little more detail and see whether we can get this working the way you want.

I am getting this message on weather.com. Please see attached screen shot.

Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection feature, and extensions that counter ads and tracking, may break websites that embed third party content (meaning, from a secondary server). However, you should be able to make a site exception and not have to completely stop blocking for all sites. Try this:

(A) The shield icon toward the left end of the address bar usually turns a bit purplish when content is blocked. Click the icon to learn more or make an exception. See: Enhanced Tracking Protection in Firefox for desktop.

(B) Extensions such as Adblock Plus, Blur, Disconnect, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Ghostery, NoScript, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin or uMatrix usually provide a toolbar button to manage blocked content in a page. There may or may not be a number on the icon indicating the number of blocked items; you sometimes need to click the button to see what's going on and test whether you need to make an exception for this site.

Any improvement? (I've been checking the weather a lot myself recently... you could try Accuweather as an alternative if needed.)

Accuweather works thanks. In the meantime I sent a message to Adblocker about weather.com. Thanks.
