I don't know if I gave enough info. The first time that I tried to make an email contact on my computer in Firefox on a website, a box opened from Windows Live mail asking me something I can't remember what, I clicked on a couple of things thinking I had to answer, and next thing you know, I had and unending stream of untitled tabs opening that I couldn't stop and I hit control alt delete and it was hard to keep that window open, because the tabs kept streaming on and on. If I attempt to make another contact through a website's email, the same thing happens over and over, so I can't use email connections through a website. How do I fix this?

Operating system

windows 7

See Firefox repeatedly opens empty tabs or windows after you click on a link

You can have infinite tabs opening if you have selected Firefox as the application to handle a file if you get an Open with download window. Firefox should not be selected as the application to handle a file and you have to remove the action that is associated with that file type. You can delete mimeTypes.rdf in the Profile Folder to reset all actions or set that action in Tools > Options > Applications to 'Always Ask'.
