cannot download any toolbars or plugins.
I have tried to download several different toolbars/plugins recently but firefox won't let me download them. When it attempts to download I usually get an error box that says something like "Firefox could not install the file at _____ (i.e. universe.chacha.com/toolbar) Because: Unexpected installation error Review the Error Console log for more details. -203"
I've tried to do everything suggested under FAQ's on the mozilla site but it still won't let me install any toolbars or plugins.

You may need to update some plug-ins. Check your plug-ins and update as necessary:

- Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in: Installing (or Updating) the Shockwave plugin with Firefox

I tried resetting the settings. making sure everything was updated and getting rid of any plug-ins or toolbars that could be harmful. the only security i have on my computer is AVG so that shouldn't be keeping me from downloading. I know for the chacha toolbar to download i had to downgrade to a different version of firefox but even then it still wouldn't download.
"I tried resetting the settings.":
- Does that mean that you deleted/renamed the extension .ini, .cache, and .rdf files in your Profile folder as specified in the article Unexpected installation error -203 when installing add-ons ?
- Did you do the deletion/removal with Firefox closed?
- Have you restarted Firefox after the deletion/removal?
I am not familiar with the chacha toolbar. If that is the only Add-on with which your are experiencing a problem, you may get better information on troubleshooting that toolbar by contacting the developer.

i uninstalled everything through firefox, clicked uninstall and then restarted firefox. anything that i couldn't uninstall that way i shut down firefox and then went into my control panel and uninstalled in manually. I also started firefox in safemode and checked where it said "reset toolbar" or "toolbar settings", i can't remember what it says, and then closed it and restarted firefox.
